Hiring and training the dealers needed for the games is also underway.
Local contractors began work early Monday on the new section of the racetrack that will soon house the poker tables.
Wayne Soard, vice president of operations for the track, said the room will have slots and poker and it's getting a major overhaul right now.
Soard said they've been designing the poker area and the upstairs casino area for some time in anticipation that the local option bill would pass.
Twenty poker tables will be placed in the lower level and 43 other table games, including roulette, craps and blackjack, will be housed on the main level just inside the main entrance.
The construction should be complete in six to eight weeks and the main level will be complete by October.
The gaming center is investing $13 million in this initial phase.
Soard said 350 jobs will come with the addition of table games. Two job fairs are scheduled at the gaming center this week.
The fairs are scheduled from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. for Wednesday and Saturday.
The Wednesday session is in the meeting rooms and the Saturday session is in the showroom.
